Proper (updated) exclusions for avast 2014 and malwarebytes pro

Two questions:

  1. What are the newest/updated exclusions for using avast Pro 2014 and Malwarebytes Pro (in real time or resident)? All of the info I can find on this is for avast 6 and seems outdated. Would very much appreciate detailed, step by step instructions on how to do the exclusions.

  2. Are the exclusions really even needed or will there be conflicts between avast 2014 and Malwarebytes Pro without the exclusions?

Comment:
I use Malwarebytes as an extra layer of protection which seems like a wise thing to do.

Welcome to the Forum
I’ve always found this interesting. Some folks feel/need to set exclusions.
I’ve have not experienced a conflict with MBam and Avast on my Win 8.1 so have never added any exclusions. On my XP I did exclude the MBam Folder in the Avast File Shield exclusions.

If you run MBam ‘On Demand’ you don’t need to bother with exclusions. If you are running MBam Pro Real-Time as I am, and you are not experiencing any conflicts/errors then no need to mess around with exclusions.

Thanks for the reply and info schmidthouse.
Apparently, you’re the only on in the forum with the knowledge and expertise to answer this question so your input is much appreciated.
I’ll just run without any exclusions.
It’s interesting that in the Malwarebytes info/forums they recommend setting the exclusions but the guides to do this are all outdated.

You’re welcome.
There are many users/evangelists that are very qualified.
The vast differences in experience, and experiences put together in one forum allows the majority of issues to be responded too and hopefully resolved.

Edit: Just to add, if there is no conflict/errors or Alerts then don’t go looking for problems when there are none.
Apparently, there are those who have issues and have found the need for exclusions.
