A suggestion … why when the web protection that blocks a web page comes into operation does not insert an Avast courtesy page that warns of the dangerous website?
This only happens if you have the Avast Online Privacy & Security extension installed in your browser.
In my opinion it would be nice to see it in the AV web protection too.
If you do not have the Avast Online Security extension in your browser, for example, if you access a phishing page, the web page that appears is blank and the web protection notification arrives. It would be nice instead not to see the blank page but a page with an Avast warning, as happens when you have installed the extension in the Avast Security On Line browser.
The ASB requires that you have the browser add-on installed (on each browser you have), where as the Avast Web Shield acts before anything gets to your browser as your connections are filtered through the Web Shield.
If you have the ASB add-on it is checking before you actually connect to the web page, so the Web Shield hasn’t yet been involved.
Personally I don’t use the ASB as I find it intrusive, I don’t want my searches cluttered. So for me to add this function I believe it would need to install the add-on as part of the AV installations. This for me would be unacceptable, as I’m not in favour of this type hidden/unknown component/add-on. This raised lots of anger when chrome was installed without the user being aware of it it didn’t see the small pre-checked option during installation.
