Warning: Probably a retarded question, but this is the first time I have set up my own security. Sorry ahead of time if this has been asked, or is easy to find although I haven’t found it. A little about my problem, I recently purchased the provirus and installed it, it is working as it should. I decided to download the internet security as well and went through the set up, but I don’t know if it is working or not. I submitted a help ticket and this is the reply I got: If you see orange avast! icon in your system tray without any symbol on it, program is running promptly. Check your license key validity. You can find this information in the Main screen under the Current status. If it is not displayed, click on “Show details”. In case that you are not sure about the current statement of avast!, check avast! resident shields from the user interface. Well the icon in the system tray does have a white (upside down U) symbol inside it, so I checked the status and it says secure. The last computer I had, had the provirus as well and I had the same screen on that. I checked all my real time shields and they are running as well. I am still wondering if the internet security is working or not. Is there a way to find out?
Sounds good so far. The “upside down U” is actually a stylized “A”. If anything is amiss with Avast!, you would see either a yellow triangle with a exclamation point or a red circle with an “X” over top of the Avast! icon, just as support stated.
Apart from that, the only thing to look for is the first screen that pops when you open Avast!, that is Summary>>Current Status. Here you will also see if your program and definitions are up-to-date or not.
when you say provirus…i guess you mean avast! antivirus pro ?
avast internet security have a firewall, so if you open the program and look on letft side, there should be a button (#4 from top) that is named firewall ?
Ok, thanks I feel alot better now, everything checks out. Thank you for such quick responses.
