I just installed home version avast for abuddy dialup now he gets error SSL Inever did this before do Ihave too Do something to the proxy server Hey im a newbye
Since SSL/TLS e-mail is encrypted and decrypted in the client, external virus scanners (including avast!) can’t read or scan it.
The solution is to pass e-mail in and out un-encrypted from your client (Outlook Express, Thunderbird, …) to a proxy program (Stunnel) that does the actual ssl or tls encryption/decryption of the pop3/smtp e-mail and communicates directly with the ISP server on the appropriate ports. Download here: http://www.stunnel.org/download/binaries.html
If you need further help, don’t hesitate, ask here.
But we will need more information to be able to help you:
- Which OS are you using? Is it up to date?
- What avast! version?
- Do you use a firewall? Which one?
- Do you have any other antivirus installed in your system?
- Any other security programs that could interfere?
Iam using avast 4 home edition no other firewalland no other antivirus and no other program to interfere
Which program are giving errors to you?
Which is your operational system?
