prxUnknown dll

A google search for prxUnknown turns up sites that say it is a dangerous trojan.

Avast! doesn’t pick up on it.

Searches on Spybot forums don’t turn up any results for it.

Spybot picked up on its request to change the registry and I told it to disallow registry changes. Spybot itself does not pick it up during a scan. The registry change denied dialogue boxes pop up ceaselessly from the bottom right of my screen.

says it is very dangerous and I can download their suite to remove it. Why get into another whole ‘suite’?

Does anyone know if this prxUnknown is a serious threat and what it really is?

If it is just part of the windows system, how do I let it resume changing the registry as needed and stop the disruptions through spybot ?

Thanks.

Please put the file in a password protected zip and send it to virus@avast.com

Sorry, what file? The infected one? Hmmm…no idea how to find it since scan programs don’t find it.

Btw, I have a Kaperski scan report that is too large to fit here, apparently.

Thanks again.

He meant that you could take the infected file and zip it into an archive file, this archive file (.zip) could be protected by a password. But if you can’t find the infected file… there is nothing to do.

Can’t you divide it? Can’t you post just the infected files listed there?

Welcome to the forums, kesihua.

You can post the log results using the “copy & paste” method. It will probably take more than one post to be able to get the complete log posted. OR, you can post it as an attachment to your post by clicking on “Additional Options…” below left of the posting box.
