Eh…Avast has decided that Punkbuster is a win32:malware gen.
Never had this problem and punkbuster is obviously a genuine program?
So how do i go about getting Avast to accept this as safe?

Seems quite a few people are getting bitten by this on the BF3 forums - although they don’t appear to know it.
(I assume it’s safe, but /shrug)

yepp…GData is using avast as one of its two virus engines…so thats why it also detect

Definitons update just released
Punkbuster can come out a bit aggressive because it’s nature as a cheater detection program.Therefore sometimes it is flagged as generic trojan malware by av solutions. On July 9th Bitdefender produced a FP, and now apparently avast found issues with the executable. So probably a false positive. When reported and actually found to be a FP, avast is known to solve these issues quickly, sometimes with a coming update. So just wait for it to be fixed. Well I see the issue has already been fixed with a new update, while posting this,

The more people that send an FP then the faster they will get to see it
