Pups and malwarebytes

Why didn’t Avast find these when doing a quick scan? It’s supposed to scan for pups I don’t know what these 3 things are. They showed up under Brians temp account who is the person who fixed my computer.

EDIT

typo

It isn’t set to scan for pups by default, you would need to set that if you wanted it.

The problem with PUPs is the user has to have a good knowledge of what is installed on their system and why. So not knowing what they are or might do, you also don’t know what action to take.

The additional problem is there is insufficient information in your image as to the location, if it is a physical file and location or if it is just a registry entry.

Brian may well have installed some tools and or additional programs, you will need to ask him.
I think that you should ask in the MBAM forums on what these are.

I have it set to scan for pups.

This time there were 85 pups.

That looks to be Malwarebytes set to scan for PUP’s not Avast. Best to ask Brian anyway.

All of my pictures, downloads and documents are in Brians temp account.

Two things.

  1. Ask Brian
  2. Address your questions on the Malwarebytes forum since this pertains to their product.
PUP = Possible unwanted program. One persons unwanted program could be another person utility.
