I purchased this anti-virus this morning and can’t get it to download to my computer…is there an 800# so I can speak to an agent for assistance?

What errors are you getting ?
Where are you trying to download it from ?
If from Cnet and it is the 300kb on-line setup file, you would probably be better downloading the full off-line installation file.
- http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-professional.html - Ensure that you scroll down and select the avast direct download link for the English version and not Cnet as that is for an on-line installation (not what you want to do).
Or direct download link, http://files.avast.com/iavs4pro/setupengpro.exe, right click select save as or save file as (depending on your browser) and save it to your HDD, somewhere you can find it again.

Erm, what exactly do you want to do? Download is available in the link that DavidR posted.
Once you have that file (setup installer), you can install the program and use it for 60 days with full functionality. Until then, i’m sure you’ll get the registration key (if you don’t already have it).
i have tried to use the links but for some reason my computer won’t download it. it keeps saying there is an error in the procedure. ???
So you right click on the direct link and select save as and you get the error you mentioned ?
Can you give the full text of the error if it contains more that just there was an error in the procedure.
If so are you using a browser’s download function (if so what browser and try a different browser) and see if that resolves it; or try a download manager like Orbit Downloader, etc.
Is it possible that your system was infected before you tried to download avast ?
The reason I ask is that some malware does try to block security applications to protect against their removal.
If you haven’t already got this software (freeware), download, install, update and run it and report the findings (it should product a log file).
