I recently switched back to avast after my new computer came with Symantic on it.
I get a popup telling me that it is $29.95 for a year but the purchase process does not connect.
If i go to your site, I can buy it for $59.95
How can I take advantage of your $29.95 offer?

Can you access the special offer through the avast GUI, open avast to the main summary page and there should be a 50% off special.

I did … I came here. And found the price to be different.
The Avast in program routine wants to ONLY use the chrome browser.
I did all the things recommended in the error panel.
All I want to do is to buy Avast at the advertised discount price.

Try settings \ troubleshooting - do not use chrome as default browser.
The whole system is a bait and switch.
The problem was that the chrome default was set to never connect to the internet.
This was the installation default and not mentioned in the help screen
Once I got this running I found that adding the one year registration to the cart ended up with an empty cart.
If i added the 2 year discount price item to the cart I got a server error.
This left me with the choice of purchasing at full price.
I was sufficiently annoyed to go and purchase AVG

Yes this is bad marketing tactics from Avast. Now they have new masters who invested 100 million in them, they must jump like dogs over these new obstacles, otherwise the master will kick them! :-\
