Purchased Avast for the year...not working

I was using avast (30 day trial) and liked it so decided to get the one year…I paid for it and got my emails from them but haven’t been able to work it out.

I opened my email and it said download the file so I did. There was no license key in the email. I had to download the file. When I opened it it came up:

[i]Are you sure you want to insert the license file with the following parameters?

License Holder: (My name)

Product name: avast! Internet Security
Valid till: 17/05/2011 01:34:10[/i]

I said okay and it said:

[i]Thank you.

Your license file has been inserted successfully. The program will now upgrade to avast! Internet Security. [/i]

So it went onto the update page and began updating, then finished.

But according to the registration page, I have no registered and have 25 days left in the free trial

I don’t know if I have explained what happen well enough, sorry. :-
If anyone has any ideas, please feel free to reply.

If that doesn’t work, you might try uninstalling, using the removal tool (found here: http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility), then re-installing the product. You can re-download the English Version of Avast 5 Internet Security from here: http://download.cnet.com/Avast-Internet-Security/3000-18510_4-75095376.html?part=dl-85737&subj=dl&tag=button

Once all that is done, attempt to re-insert your license file.

If all else fails, you can ask for a replacement license file. http://www.avast.com/resend-license.v2.php

Thank you for the reply! Since none of those worked, I’m going to try and uninstall and reinstall. How do I put my laptop into safe mode?

power off…power up, and start tapping the F8 key directly after the power up
