Purchased but can't activate?

So I was buying the Avast! for $19.99, but I tried purchasing it and once I click to button to continue to the Activation tab, the whole thing went blank and went back to the shopping cart tab… with the page blank…
I tried this twice and now I don’t know if my purchase went through and if I paid for nothing.
Everything (security) is off now, so I don’t know what to do.

Did you check your email for a confirmation about the order ?
Is any money deducted from your bank account/credit card or whatever you are using ?

I upgraded from Free to Pro, got the receipt and activation Email
I keep getting the message software exception 0xc06d007e occurred in the application at location 0x750e812f

Perform a clean installation af the latest Pro version and see if the problem is solved.

I renewed my Avast but it won’t install. Is it because I am still using XP?
When I press Insert Licence Key I get a window saying it has been successfully installed, but the Avast icon has a big X through it indicating that I have not got the new licence.
I then get a window that says it is updating my Avast, but nothing happens. It gets stuck on Step 1 of 3 steps. The message is "Initializing Please Wait’. I have been waiting for more than a day. What should I do please?
