Push Install Does not work

I have pushed the netclient to a few workstations but the a-ball icon shows up with a red ball. I get an RPC error when I left click on the a-ball icon. I have checked my RPC services; they are running and are set to use the local system account. I have uninstalled the netclient and re-pushed it multiple times and still the same problem. I also checked the Avast services: Avast Netagent is running but the Avast Web Scanner and Mail Scanner are not running. They are set to Manual. I have tried starting them but get the following error: 1705 → The dependency service does not exist or has been marked for deletion. My workstations are 2000 workstations. The ADNM is installed on a 2003 member server. Help!

the same problem.
win2000 acts like a avast network manager. i’ve created a deployment package,
installed it onto a win2000 computer.
all avast services installed, except avast! Antivirus service. it is simply absent in the service list (in the services.msc)
ok. i’ve manually reinstalled avast! managed client. avast! Antivirus service appeared and auto started. cool, but i should not reinstalled it manually, right?
it should be installed automatically, right?
there were not any antivirus software before avast on the target machine.

Please send file Avast4\Setup\setup.log from the workstation to forejt@avast.com
Thank you.

I figured out how to fix the problem. I think the push installation module in the ADNM has some bugs in it. As already stated, I did a push installation to my workstations. The Netclient did install on the workstations but it did not install properly. I had to go to each workstation and do an add/remove programs → Selected the Avast program/click [change/remove]/click change/reinstalled program/rebooted. After doing this the Netclient is working fine.

thanx, i’ve already figured it out too
but it is a bug i think.
now i’ll try some other workstations, then i’ll send logfile to forejt@avast.com

This is very odd. It’s not reproducible on our machines.
I’m very courious about the logs - could you please send them asap?

Thanks
Vlk

Found anything on this yet guys? I have the same problem.

Attached is the remote install log for the test system.

Seems that my domain administrator account has no rights on this system. When I install the client using the system’s administrator account all works fine.

Weird.

The log file seem to be incomplete. Are you saying that the deployment task terminated by itself at this point ?

Yeah my bad… I didn’t wait before I copied it.
