Avast did put win32:trojan gen in the chest. I like to put back these files (also uninstall.exe of hitman pro) to the original map. I think avast treat them as a virus/trojan, what isn’t.
Is it possible to put back the files? I cannot find in the properties how to do that.
Is it possible too start the engine so that it recovers the file instead of delete them or put them in the chest?
Yes it is possible, and is a major reason why delete should not be your first choice in dealing with a virus warning.
Open the virus chest and select the files you want to restore, right click them and select restore, simple. You will however, have avast alarm again as they will be detected again, so if you are certain that they are not infected, you can add them to the exclusions.
If you are getting a virus warning that you believe is a false positive, then if you can zip and password protect (‘virus’, will do) the suspect file and send it to virus @ avast.com (no spaces).
Give a brief outline of the problem, the fact that you believe it to be a false positive and include the password in the body of the email. Some info on the avast version and VPS number (see about avast {right click avast icon}) will also help.
thanks. I did not delete the files but removed them to the chest.
I always used Norman antivirusscan and had no problems with these files.
Avast gave an alert of;
win32:trojan.gen. (Hitman Pro) Thats a Dutch Prigram who does automatically adware, spybot, etc. etc.
So I think its not a virus.
Right click on the avast! icon and select Start avast! Antivirus (the on-demand scan interface) and from the menu or right click on the window and select Virus Chest.
VRDB is for infection recovery, i.e., repair a file (executable) that was infected.
The restoration from Chest is quite simple, just follow David’s advice.
