Hi to all!
I would like to know if the new version of Avast, 4.5, includes a Backweb updating or logging system.
It happened a few days ago; after loading the new version of Avast (and other updating software) appeared on the Temp directory a backweb exe.
It presents the figure “bwgo000###ea.exe” where # means numbers that change every day.
Could someone tell me if is it or not?
Thanks so much
Why not stop the executable from running and check port 6670?
Giovo, avast! doesn’t use backweb for updates! It must be from some other software. Here you might find some info how to remove it - if you think it shouldn’t be on your PC: http://www.iamnotageek.com/a/359-p1.php
Looks like it is time to check your system for malware. Click on the link in my signature and follow the steps on the page.
Thanks for all the suggestions, I’m following one per time.
I cancelled the BW executable and check ports, no net conection result.
So I will try with Lukor suggestion and comunicate later.
Thanks again
Thanks Lukor, I found the software which introduced the BW. It was Logitech by his Desktop Manager (software that I had updated close with Avast updating).
All cancelled and register cleaned.
Bye and thanks again
