Question About Avast Scans/Update Notifications?

Hi All,

If Avast is in the middle of a scan and an update comes through, does the pop-up notice still show up by default? Or would Avast finish the scan, and than check with the server for updates?

I have never seen an update pop-up during a scan. Do not know if this is coincidental or by design. I probably never will because I manually check for updates before scans.

Depends on what the popup said. Virus definitions are set to be checked when the Internet connection is first made, and every four hours after.

If a program update, usually that comes in when you check here on the Summary page of the program. Program version will be in red text.

You can also see the last popup message by right-clicking the avast! icon in the system tray, and selecting ‘Show last popup message’.
