Question about Bagle virus/worm

Does anyone know how to Block or remove this virus ? I got it in my computer several times recently
and had to format my hard drive to get it out.
Avast does not recognize this virus. I searched the forum and saw where some said Clam Virus Program
would solve this problem so now I have this program installed along with Avast.
I’m hoping Avast will do somthing about this.

Depending on wich version of Bagle you have the Avast! virus cleaning available on the main page should take care of it

I tried that and it did not work. I found the virus using online virus scans. Two of the files are srosa
and mdeik which will not delete out.
The symptoms of this virus are it will take out the Avast Icon and deactivate Avast. It will not let you
install any new antivirus programs and it will not let you go into safe mode.
I read in the forums that there was a big out break of this back in 2004.
If you do a forum search under viruses and worms for “Bagle virus worms” you will see what I mean.

This is one of the newer trojan dropper Bagle-WI versions, that changes the hosts file, and changes the registry settings, read about recovery here:
