Can I d/l avast and then copy it to a cd. The reason I ask is I was talking to my neighbor this morning and she was complaining that her internet speed (16kp) was worse than ever. She said she was going out to purchase Nortons and I told her about avast. I said I would try to d/l and save a copy to a cd and come over and install (kinda like the blind leading the blind). Also I know to remove all Nortons and can I copy the cleanup tool for it also. She also has someof Mcafee that she will have to remove. Do they have a clean up tool also. I sent my sisters the steps to installing avast and it worked out well for her. So I have two new converts. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks
Hi :
As far as I know, you can download both Avast and the Norton Removal
Tool to a CD ( or is it only to a DVD !? ) There may be 2 separate
Removal Instructions depending on the "year" ( 2006 or 2007 ) of the
McAfee program .
For mcafee see here. The tool should be downloadable and portable.
You didn’t mention the operating system that these programs need to be removed from.
All these tools have restrictions based on the operating system. ![]()
I have copied avast and a number of other setup files to a CD after downloading them. It works well and saves a huge amount of download time for me, as I have two computers and dial-up, and for some of my friends who also have dial-up connections.
Bob she has XP. I have all the programs d/l and copied to a disk. Now just to get over there and install. I am kinda nervous about doing anything to someone else’s computer.
Thanks for all the replies.
