Question about Endpoint Protection deployment

Hi

I’m currently trialing Endpoint Protection with the aim to replace our current use of AIS as we are having to add more machines shortly which takes us over the 10 machines that appear to be the max for a single license (without buying multiple licenses for different groups of course).

My query may be a little unusual in that we are currently part of a AD run by a sister company which the console picks up allowing me to install to the PC’s in the domain. However we will probably be breaking away from that domain and will be using Samba4 to authenticate our own PC’s. We don’t actually use Windows servers here, but all workstations are W7 Pro.

Will the scenario of changing a domain after deploying Endpoint cause any problems or issues with the software? Or would it simply not be recommended to do this?

Thanks
Daren

SoA can be installed on any workstation. you might have to reinstall SoA and then rerun the deploy task and it should overwrite the current settings. I have moved SoA to different computers without real issue twice now. If that doesn’t work, another option would be to remove it all together when you move off the domain then redeploy when the new network is set up.

Thanks.

I figured it could be installed on any workstation (it’s on my own PC at the moment in trial form), I was just wondering if the license tied itself in some way to the domain the workstations are part of.
