Question about Exclusions

Hi all,

I have a question about Exclusions, as a description of Exclusions says " Type path masks to be excluded from scanning. Note : This settings affact all parts of avast!

I try to exclude " C:\WINDOWS\system\ " and it is excluded from on-demand scanner, no problems.

But I try to put the eicar.zip in " C:\WINDOWS\system\ " when I extract it avast! detects and warns me immediately.

Form what I understand <Note : This settings affact all parts of avast!> this means that Standard Shield is excluded but why avast’s real-time scanner still warns me?

What exactly does it mean “when I extract” it and what are your settings of the Standard Shield? Where did you extract the file from and to?
