So does Avast SSL protect emails, even the email account isn’t SSL proctected itself?
As far as I’m concerned, once you send an email out into the 'Net, avast won’t be able to touch a single aspect of the email. So, in other words, no.
If you have SSL email, it will be protected by SSL, but avast can only protect mail when your computer is downloading or sending to the ISP.
If your mail provider accepts SSL connection for your account, then avast will provide that.

Yeah, my provider apparently accepts SSL. So it goes like this: My PC --SSL-- Providers server --NonSSL-- Receivers account. Am i right?
For the Mail Shield to be able to scan your email traffic, you have to uncheck the SSL option in your email client, email account properties/settings.
Then it goes like this, your email client (Non-SSL account setting) send email > Intercept by avast Mail Shield localhost Proxy and Scanned > passed through using SSL transmission > received SSL transmission by your ISP email servers.
The process is reversed for receipt of email.
