Why cant i sand box ie with auto sand box on win 7
Hi Mommy,
Welcome to the avast forum,
Let me explains the differences between auto-sandbox and sandbox :
- Sandbox only available for paid version such as avast Pro and avast IS, and then Auto-Sandbox provided for whole avast solutions from free one till paid one
- Sandbox on avast Pro or IS that you may capable to set which application will always run in virtualization room, and Auto-Sandbox is run based on suspicious detection which’s mean if you run suspicious application on your system then avast will pop-up and notify user to encourage user to run their application in virtual area
Here’s i quote the information from : http://www.avast.com/internet-security#tab3
AutoSandbox Prompts users to run suspicious applications in the virtual Sandbox environment. avast! Sandbox Provides an extra layer of security for you to run your PC and its applications in a virtual environment – where any attacks are thus targeted (instead of your real PC). OS supported: Windows XP SP2+ 32-bit Windows Server 2003, Vista, 7 (32-bit and 64-bit) only RTM versions are supported (Windows 7 SP1 RC is currently also supported) OS not supported: Windows 2000 Windows XP 64-bit (with any SP installed) Windows Server 2003 64-bit
I hope this may clear your doubt about Auto-Sandbox and Sandbox.
cheers,
Basicly Avast! heuristics decides if something is suspicious, and that triggers the AutoSandbox.
