This morning after I got up, my mom tells me she was checking out some video a Facebook friend sent her, and that Avast! told her it was a trojan. I went to her real-time shields, and it was very difficult to find it. After I did, it just showed it found 1, it didn’t give any information. Is there a list view that possibly tells what was blocked? Also, I noted in a full scheduled scan, a PUP was found, but nothing was done about it. I’m pretty sure I have it set to quarantine automatically but it wasn’t. Lastly, where are virus files located for Avast! 5. I know Avast! 4 had a folder where they were kept, but where are they for Avast! 5. Thank you.
It is most likely to have been the web shield (though you didn’t say), check it out and click the Show report file.
Thank you. Also, do you know where infected files are kept, that way I can upload it to Virustotal to check if its a FP. It’s a PUP called Killapp.
The files are in the Chest folder but there is no point in trying to upload from there it is a protected area, so knowing its location (C:\ProgramData\Alwil Software\Avast5\chest) is of little use. You have to extract it from the chest to a temporary location to be able to upload it.
