question about scanning

Hi,

I have a free version of avast 4.7 home ed.and I would know why when I 'm doing a manually scan it stops all at about 10 min of the starting process and close the screen. What is happening ,it is the first time the scan is ending like that.I have to tell I had installed ewido with guard running permanently ,do I have to disable this, when running avast?
Thank for advice

Can you give us a little more information?

How much data are you scanning and what level of scan is avast! set for? If you’ve changed to a quick scan and there’s not much data it could complete a scan this quickly.

I was scanning local discs with standard level protection-The last scan I had done was on 10.06.2006 whith any problem-

Try this.

Open avast! and right click inside the interface. Click on View Scan Reports. At the bottom of the report will be a section about the most recent scan.

What is reported for Total Size and Run Time?

View scan reports is only available during a scan in the Home version, it is gone once you close the avast antivirus window. These reports aren’t saved in the Home version, only the Pro version as far as I’m aware.

You could change the Report file in the Program Settings (see image), Tick the Create Report file, change the location and name if you want it saved elsewhere, ensure that you tick OK files and any other options you wish (but probably best to leave the default options and just add OK files). Run another scan and check the report, if nothing else it should show the last OK file scanned; this may give an indication of the last folder scanned and last file, so the one causing the problem is likely to be the next one in the folder.

Don’t now what happened but I 've done two scans this evening and avast doesn’t find anything.I have cliked the ok files as you told me and the job ended correctly ,report ok too
SO WAIT AND SEE as someone says.
