Avast scans a CD or DVD when inserted but it won’t scan USB flash drives though…correct?
avast scans diskette (floppy) boot area.
Standard Shield scans all open/created/modified file regardless its location.
I have auto play turned off for my optical drives. If I right click on the drive and choose “explore” I take it that counts as “open” as far as Avast is concerned? Or do you mean open as in when a program is run?
If Windows read a file, this is ‘open’ for the scanner. But only the files set on the extension list will be scanned. There is no need to scan ‘inert’ files.
If you start a program, this is ‘run’.
In both cases, open/run, avast scans.
O.K. thanks.
You’re welcome. Merry Christmas!
