Question concerning avast.ch

Hi,

I haven’t found anything on this topic using the search feature, so please forgive me if this has already been discussed somewhere.

On the Swiss Google search (google.ch), the first few results for the keyword “Avast” show the website avast.ch.
This topic was brought up in a discussion in an online community, and some users commented that avast.ch must be a good/trustworthy site with the reasoning that “Avast is Avast”.
Hmm, I however am a bit suspicious about that, and most websites/community tools that rate the safety of websites don’t have any information about it. Therefore I wanted to ask the Avast! Staff if you are in any way affiliated with that site or not. Thanks in advance :slight_smile:

Well Avast won’t have every occurrence of a local domain for avast, this often happens where an authorised avast reseller/distributor registers avast in their local top level domain.

So you could check this to see if it is on the avast authorised resellers list.

See image, whois information on the registrant of the domain, if that matches the avast authorised resellers list - Avast Resellers http://www.avast.com/locate-dealer which it appears to be a Gold Reseller, image 2.
