I had some sort of malware that I manage to clean out but after that I notice that the quick scan profile selection has a few profiles with question marks. I believe they are created every time I use the shell selection.
Does this mean that my laptop still infected?
Iv’e been trying to find the search all over the place but can’t find the answer and i have the same problem :-[ . i thought to remove the scan history would solve it but didn’t :-
I would also like to know how to remove those set’s of four question marks and if i need to change something so shell scan is possible ?
Thnx
What avast build number are you using?
Have you tried avast repair … ftom ad/remove programs?
Well i think i solved it from my side ;D
Using Win7 ultimate.
First i uninstalled the previous 2014.9.0.2008 version true safe mode but with the new install from the same version the problem was still there >:(
Also done repair from ad/remove tool and to reset (standard) also true safe mode but nothing worked the 4 question marks stayed.
After my reply and reading other posts in the forum i found the new R2 2014.9.0.2010 version.
First i done the normal install over the old one but the 4 question marks where still there :o
So again i uninstalled it true safe mode uninstalled the previous 2014.9.0.2010 version followed by a registry cleaning in normal mode.
Again installed the R2 2014.9.0.2010 version and now it works fine
Just done a shell scan and works great.
Thnx.
My version is 2014.9.0.2008, when I hit update it says I’m up to date.
So that means that a uninstall/reinstall needs to happen in order to fix this issue according to BeastGSM…
Do I uninstall Avast completely from my programs in safe mode?
I hate to mess with the registry but would it be possible to reference on what to look for?
thanks
WWW.avast.com > support > downloads > uninstall utility
and you find a New release candidate in beta section If you want to try that
I actually found the same thing on my avast scan just a moment ago. What is it supposed to mean?
A glitch I think. Not supposed to have happened.
