You should see a virus warning to decide what to do (in Home version).
Which is the exactly message you’re seeing? I’m asking because some of them come from the Heuristic scanner of mail and they’re heuristic and not a ‘virus detection’ in all cases.
The only automation available in Home version is Silent Mode:
Do the same for the and Outlook/Exchange plugin.
The answer Yes in Silent Mode keeps the virus in the file or into the message (attach) and continue the scanning. You can’t configure ‘delete the infected file’ in the Home version.
Thank you for reply.
Well, I have tried again but it there was no choice for the action.
When I retrieved message from server, the yellow pop up only said virus were found.
Then, the mail has been retrieved into my mailbox.
Probably, Japanese language is too long for warning and the pop up can not show full message? But I am not sure.
The log shows “Sign of “EICAR Test-NOT virus” has been found in…”
The mail was with attachment.
It was delivered into my mail box directly.
Other than yellow popup, no window was shown.
The reason why I have tested the detection, speed of retrival of mails became very fast compare to the past.
Did you make major revision on the engine?
I’ve done nothing… I’m an user like you, not from Alwil team.
But, anyway, I think there wasn’t an engine rebuild and it’s the same as the last update (at least for emails).
Is the file tested test.zip (attached) and inside of it there is test.txt? avast should detect the file .exe and .com inside of the archive file. Can you test?
