I have avast home there are the two balls in my task bar. There is my providers and the VRDB. When i right click on the VRDB i can generate now?? What is this doing. I tried clicking on “What is avast! VRDB?” and it does nothing.
What does it do and what does it mean by generate now? Generate what? ???
If you click ‘FAQ’ in my signature and browse a little you’ll find an entry for VRDB.
Actually, VRDB scans all the local hard disks for executable files and stores some info about them. VRDB is not a backup system, the stored information is very small (not the whole files). It’s user to REPAIR infected files. The VRDB data are stored in \Data\Integ\avast.int
As you can see, there is an option to combine the two balls.
And not much to worry, as the VRDB is supposed to be dropped in avast5 (correct me if I’m wrong, I still haven’t tried a beta).
