Hi,
I’m still using Avast 4.8.
I’m wondering what will happen if I use ‘Update Program’.
Does it just update 4.8.*** or install Avast 5?

Try ;D
What are you waiting to get version 5?
I jsut want to know because I’d like to do a clean install of Avast 5 no just install it over 4.8.
So, do an installation from the scratch:
What are the specifications of your current system?
With only 256 MB PC133 SD-RAM and XP Home SP 2 I doubt avast! V5 would work very well.
I see you are still running Windows Service Pack 2 so you should install Windows Service Pack 3 that has been available for over a year and a half that contains several Critical Security updates plus performance improvements.
Go to Control Panel then Automatic Updates then select Automatic (recommended) or at least Notify me but don’t automatically download or install them.
IE8 is more secure than IE7.
Go to PROFILE then Modify Profile then Forum Profile Information then select your country in Please select your country:
Go to Secunia Online Software Inspector then run it to see what other applications are vulnerable:

I can’t change my profile because I haven’t had enough problems with Avast ![]()
current computer:
Intel Core 2 Duo 2,66 GHz
3 GB DDR2 667 MHz
640 GB SATA-II
NVIDIA GeForce 9500 GS
Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 (I know I know), IE7 (because IE7Pro won’t work as I need it with IE8), FF, Avast 4.8
Only 5 more posts to go.
I gave up on IE7Pro ages ago as all of the features that I need provided by it are now in IE8 and I use IESpell

Check out IE7Pro forum and you will see my comments if they have not been deleted by the moderators.
Look at all the spam they get ;D
