Questions about a couple of settings

Hello , this my first time using an avast product and would like to know about a couple of settings.In the update settings, what happens if I enable “My computer is permanentley connected to the internet”?Also, whats the difference between regular database updates and streaming updates ?Final question is about the avast online security addon, is there anyway to block pop up ads using this addon?Firefox doesnt block them and it can get a little annoying on some sites.Thanks

The VPS updates arrive once or twice a day but streaming updates are constant to keep up with the latest threats, it is therefore best to set it to always connected.

Can’t help with the Online Security as I use AdBlock Plus. :slight_smile:

Thank you both for the answers.I got everything I needed to know except the " My computer is permanently connected to the internet " setting.

meaning you are not using a dial-up connection … i guess
