Questions about avast 5

I’m considering gettings avast 5 free, but before I do so I was wondering if someone could answer my question:

I don’t use a proxy on my PC, so would I click in proxy settings, ‘direct connection’? Forgive me if my computer knowledge sounds basic, its just I’ve heard story’s of peoples internet connections getting messed up due not configuring proxy settings correctly.

you just need to install it , and no need to check direct connection as it’s already checked by default , also “direct connection” and ““Proxy settings”” are different types of connection .
