Hello, everyone! I’m new here, and I gotta couple questions to ask.
How do I set up a profile pic?
My cousin’s laptop got infected with MyWebSearch, and I think I fixed it. Question is, can avast! delete MyWebSearch, cuz I think when you uninstall it, I think some files are still lurking in the registry. I got avast! on her computer and it removed some viruses and trojans and stuff like that on boot time scan, but I don’t know if it can remove deadly software (and when I mean deadly, I mean hard to remove).
So I heard that an antispyware called SuperAntiSpyware could remove it, but I heard it rouged people's PCs. So...can I remove hard-to-remove software with avast!?
Just have to wait 20 posts to modify a few things in your profile. Antispam policy.
Malwarebytes’ would be enough to get rid of MyWebSearch, but you never know what else is lurking about if as you said, it had some viruses and trojans. Better talk to your cousin to post at Viruses and Worms here:
I wouldn’t call MyWebSearch an infection, like a virus or malware (more like adware/spyware), in most cases the user will have invited it in.
It may come bundled with other software or under the guise optimising your search results, it would also gather information on what you are searching for to use for either targeted adverts or use the search data for marketing purposes.
