Just a quick question.
How come you need to have Background Data enable all the time in order for the web portal commands to work? It uses a lot of my phone’s battery when I have it turned on.
Thanks,
ES

Hello,
we use the data connection to stay in touch with the device. However, you can always disable the data connection (or break connection the my.avast.com) and use SMS commands to remotecontrol your phone.

Ah ok, thanks for the info. I’ve done some further testing and having the background data on didn’t have as much of an affect on battery usage as I’d previously noted.
Cheers

Avast itself should have little to no effect on battery. It’s probably other services that are using background data and causing drain.
