hey hopefully this is the right place to post this…
say avast finds a virus after a scan and sends it to the virus chest. i go in to the virus chest and what do i do? do i click and delete the virus or click on repair and try and fix it or what?. if i delete the file wouldn’t it cause problems with the program it has infected? also if i delete it from the virus chest does that delete the virus as well?
i normally click on delete and do a full scan as well as a boot scan. nothing comes up so I’m guessing that’s the right procedure.thanks
There is no rush to delete anything from the chest, a protected area where it can do no harm. Anything that you send to the chest you should leave there for a few weeks. If after that time you have suffered no adverse effects from moving these to the chest, scan them again (inside the chest) and if they are still detected as viruses, delete them.
You should never delete files in my opinion as this could spell disaster for some programs they are tied up with. You best bet would be moving it to the chest as what is already suggested and established here. The last thing you would want is scrambling to bring back a deleted file, which in any case would be a little too late considering the circumstances.
Keep them in the chest, as much as how treasures are, they are safe there.
haha really thought deleting them from the chest was the best solution, guess i was wrong lol
i back up my computer with the ERUNT,not sure if the avast virus chest files would be saved with the program tho, and music and stuff are saved on other devices.
i downloaded it to give it a try but it says i need to use my computers password and user name. well my computer doesn’t use a password to log in lol so i cant set it up.anyone know any other good programs?
