Quick scan freezes and stops at 50% scan.

I just paid for Avast internet security and now it doesn’t work. My computer has windows 7 and I run Firefox Mozilla. When I start a scan, it seems to be working, gets to about 50%, then I eventually get the “unresponsive program” message. It will not close. I have to restart my computer to get it to stop running. Any guesses?

Before starting a scan

  • Close all applications
  • Run CCleaner or the Glary Utilities and let it cleanup everything it can.

If the problem still persists, look at the scanlog where it stops.

Have you made any changes as to what and how avast scan’s the files ?
