Quick Scan is giving me Conflicting Reports...

Hello,
For several weeks, Quick Scan (which runs every day) has been telling me it has found a Threat Detected. But the Virus Chest doesn’t show me anything. The Scan Log doesn’t look like it has anything either. A couple of days will be uneventful and then a Threat Detected. I have screenshots of what I see. I have the log from one of the quick scans. And I have a screen shot of the Virus Chest.

I’ve gone ahead and run the scans per Essexboy’s sticky post above and attached the logs below.

I will say there does seem to be SOMETHING wrong. System is very sluggish.

Thank you for your help. It is appreciated.

Nothing much showing in the logs. The threat detected and nothing showing in the chest after a scan is a known bug with Avast at the moment and will appear randomly. A fix for this is being worked on

I added the text file you advised and ran FRST. That log (fixlog.txt) is attached.

Thank you for checking this out for me.

I’ve been poking around here too (not running any tools!). Ran speedtest.net last night and recorded a download speed of 0.86. Even if that isn’t 100% accurate, oh my! That would account for sluggishness, don’t you think? I’m being taken back to AOL days :o.

It might be worth flushing and resetting the DNS

Let me know if this makes an improvement

I’ve run and the computer has rebooted. Log attached.

Speedtest this morning has been in the 25 range both before and after the fix. I think tonight will be the test. At least in as much as I understand this. If it’s at the ISP end of things, nighttime seems to be when we slow down.

Thank you for giving me this fix. I appreciate it

Let me know how it goes

Will do.

Thanks again for your help.

My pleasure
