How can I view the result of a quick scan? For example, I inserted a CD with programs for my Virtual RPC, asked Avast to scan it, but no result showed up. One of your contributors suggests that that is how it is. Surely not!

This is a feature.
Avast does not show a final report with quick scan unless there is an infection.
You may however go into the GUI and run a folder scan on the CD Drive drive letter. Should give more detail.

Depends on the version of avast you’re using. In v4.x, it doesn’t show anything by default. In v5, it should show the report after the scan finishes.
