QuickTime Latest Version for ALL Windows?

By just poking around my computer, I noticed I of course still have the original version of QuickTime, which gets installed by my AOL software. It is QuickTime 6.5 with a File Size of around 2.65 Meg. The latest QuickTime version 7.68.75.0 is 32.86 Meg. :o That is quite a File Size difference.

Question: Would this latest QuickTime version even be likely to work with my Windows XP SP3 or is it more likely that at some point, the later QuickTime versions were only for Windows Vista and Windows 7?

IF I decided to update, I’d for sure have to wait until I can get access to my neighbors’, friends’ or nephew’s High Speed Internet. I’m certainly NOT going to download 32.86 Meg with my Dial Up.

Thanks for the Info, Pondus!
I just realized that in the Technical Tab there in FileHippo, it does specify on there that it does work on Windows XP.

I’ll see about getting this updated as soon as I can access me some High Speed Internet.

So, these vulnerabilities can get exploited even if the QuickTime is never used?
So, as long as the old version QuickTime is installed in a computer … it’s a risk, right? Even if it’s just sitting there idle for 97% of the time?
