Hi, on my XP machine ram usage is around 30 meg but on my wifes Vista laptop the same processes add up to around 7-8 meg. Now this is not a complaint, far from it as the product is absolutely superb! thanks to the talented people at Alwil software, it is just out of curiosity as to why there is a difference, many thanks.
maybe, because it’s a different os…? ;D
What is being scanned could have the influence here… number of files and processes being scanned at that particular time.
xp---->30mb
vista—>8mb
??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ??? ???
is this normal os operation? i mean no program is running just os?
weird vista must be greater ram usage than xp.
what xp is this 64? ;D
what vista is this 32? ;D
if that the case thats normal
Hi, thanks for replying, XP pro SP3 and Vista basic SP2 both 32bit, readings were taken when simply browsing the web. They both run very smooth, but was just wondering whether the older OS runs heavier for a reason, cheers.
i wonder, too…
but there r boundless possibilities…
I notice you’re using XP too Asyn, is between 20-30 meg normal?
4 this kind of config here, yes!..
Cool
