Hello, this is my first time posting onto these forums so I will try my best to make it clear and simple!
The problem had started just today, the Chrome Extension Avast Online Security had been acting up weird lately. Causing large CPU spikes for no good reason. At first I thought I was having problems elsewhere but eventually went into Google Chrome’s task manager and nailed the problem on this extension as the culprit. Before I had clear assumptions, I have turned it off and back on and it didn’t work. So I removed it and added it back on, and that didn’t seem to help either. That’s when I looked into the task manager on Google Chrome and found it, effectively ending its process and turning it on from there. So far it has been acting a bit more calmly than randomly eating up above 50% of my CPU but I would like some more professional help from anyone who had this problem and could solve it for me.
Edit: I have also found out when this occurs, the Avast Online Security icon on the browser will go gray and say the sites are unknown to it despite being on Youtube or something well known. I have done clear checks for viruses or Malware and its very well clean too.
While it is not a problem but I would rather like the idea my CPU not to be burned out because of one extension. So it would be a great deal of help and thanks if anyone knows why this occurs. If there is any additional information that is needed to figure this out, ask me and I’ll try to add them in even though I may have just solved my own problem! I’ll try to keep in touch! And thanks!
