I play an old 2D RPG game based in directx / driectDraw (7??).
However, while playing about once every 1-2 hours I notice it tabs out of the game and displays the desktop, but no notification messages of any kind. How can I prevent this?
- Which Avast…? (Free/Pro/IS/Premier)

Do you know it is related to Avast? One of my computers (without Avast) does the same thing and while it is annoying, I didn’t find a culprit yet.
We know there was a bug in fullscreen detection algo (it didn’t detect a DirectX app as fullscreen app)… but I don’t know if this fix helps…
I am about 90% certain it is Avast. It began within hours of installing the program. I use Advanced System Care and MalwareBytes, Autoruns…etc but none that actively run. I already uninstalled the IoBits Malware fighter as an attempt to fix the problem. It still persists.
I am running M14xR2 Alienware with Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 x64. Avast Free Antivirus 2015, the current download on the website. Silent/Gaming mode is enabled.
If this is caused by an unknown bug in the detection algorithm, perhaps a work around would be to prevent notifications or showing the desktop based on manually added programs running…?
Edit: Added Hijack This log. Aranock.exe is the game in question that it keeps minimizing. I don’t run any other programs full screen so I don’t have anything to effectively test with.
