Random Temporary windows profile

I have been running Avast on my Windows 8.1 pro machine for nearly a year with no issues.

However a couple of times over the past month the machine has now logged me in with a temporary profile, giving an error message that it cannot access some file (flashed it too quick to read what it was).

A reboot solves the issue, although following the issue on both occasions I have restored a disc image.

Reading all the FAQs or one of the suggestions is that it could be AV accessing the file hence the reason for this post.

So my question is whether anyone else has seen this issue in the past couple of months and if so do you know what the solution is?

I am aware of the solution of a corrupted profile but mine are not corrupted as a reboot will cure and this would suggest that randomly windows is unable to access the files it needs.
