Random

This is completely Random I know but Ive had this one floating around in the back of my head for months now Its about The Virtumonde Trojan does anyone have any idea where it gets its name or even care? like I said Ive had that question just floating around and I believe I may have figured it out I think it means “Virtual Monday” Monday being the supposed worst day of the week because of it being the first day of the work week and worst day=worst Trojan= Virtual Monday. Yeah I know thats completely random but I had to get it out there and see what people think its completely useless to wonder where it got its name but hey I wonder over stuff like that.

The name isn’t important to me.
Trying not to get stuck with it and making sure I know how
to remove it if I do get infected is important to me.

Yeah to me thats the most Important as well bob but as I stated I was just wondering where the name originated just my natural curiosity.

It also has many aliases, WinFixer / Virtumonde / Msevents / Trojan.vundo so there doesn’t seem to be a lot of rhyme or reason behind names. It would depend on who was first to detect a new variant and what mode/inspiration light bulb moment that came into their heads.

The possibilities seem almost endless. One combination, for instance:

The Roman god of courage and military prowess.

monde m. (plural mondes)

  1. world

Chacun a le droit de vivre sur le monde.

Everyone has the right to live in the world.

  2. people

Le monde m'agaçe quelquefois. - People annoy me sometimes.
La salle était noir de monde.

(Justin, I like yours–“Virtual Monday”–better.)

It would appear, from my quick search, to be based on the name of the vendor, Virtumonde.com, if the Sunbelt blog - respected - is anything to go by.
