Ransom: Ma‌lwa‌r‌e with Remo‌t‌e D‌esktop with Key logger

Hello,

I need help with cleaning up my system because I received a weird email from someone who claims to have insta‌ll‌ed a ma‌lwa‌r‌e with Remo‌t‌e D‌esktop ha‌vi‌ng a‌ k‌eylogger which ga‌v‌e them a‌ccessi‌bili‌ty to‌ my scr‌e‌en as well a‌s web ca‌m‌era‌. (Well, I don’t have a camera on my desktop). And they are demanding ransom. I kinda get the feeling this is fake but they mentioned part of my password, not it, but part. Which is a bit disconcerting. Can you help look into my computer like you’ve done in the past.

Easy fix is to bandaid the webcam for privacy; remove it when needed.

My desktop doesn’t have a webcam (or microphone) and my laptop has a post-it note (arrow) over the webcam. You would also have to disable the microphone as and when you want to use Skype, etc. enable the microphone and remove the post-it note :slight_smile:
