When I try to set the Ransomware Shield, I only see an infinite loading screen on UI.
I repaired Avast and the same appears… Infinite loading screen!

Only Avast! I’ve updated to new version and problem persist…

  1. Download Avast Premier Antivirus: https://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_premier_antivirus_setup_offline.exe
  2. Follow instructions: https://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (Run this tool for all prior installed Avast versions…!!)
  3. Reinstall Avast with the downloaded installer from point 1.
  4. Reboot.

Thank you! It’s a bit uncomfortable for me to reinstall, I have no enough time but I think it’s the better…

I deactivated and reactivated the shield and seems to have been solved.

My question is, how should I configure this shield? What folders should I protect without risk of slowing down my pc?

  1. Usually, it picks some default folders, seems that didn’t work for you.
  2. Quite easy, choose the ones you would miss if they’re gone/encrypted.

I see that System folders, network folders and removable devices are not supported.

Basically, I must choose a folder and also choosing my trusted apps.

Any examples of folders to protect and trusted apps?

E.g. a folder with images and a program/app to open/edit them.
