RAR archive is corrupted

I did a boot scan with Avast and I got this, it wouldn’t delete it:

File c:\Documents and Settings\LocalService\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\07SB1BY8\plug_0100000000_20110311_081159[1].rar|>plug.sig Error 42126
{RAR archive is corrupted.}

I tried using CCleaner and it’s still there when I do another boot scan. Does anybody know how I can fix this? Thanks in advance.

Nothing to worry about.
Just a corrupted (not correct) cab file.
Clean your temporary files and it’s gone.

Clean/Delete your Temporary Internet Files on IE, that’s not related to FF.
Adjust your settings in CCleaner.

Ok, everything is checked in CCleaner under IE and I also went to CCleaner advance and unchecked ‘only delete files in windows temp folders older than 24hrs’ I also went to IE under Internet options and deleted the temps from there also. I also did a disk clean-up. I did a boot scan again and it still shows up. Any other ideas?

Does Superantispyware also have a file repair?

There’s no need to repair this file.

ok, will give the fileassassin a try

I downloaded fileassassin, but how can I find this file?

You posted it in your first message.

I know, but that was on the boot scan. How do I find this on my computer?

c:\Documents and Settings\LocalService\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\07SB1BY8\plug_0100000000_20110311_081159[1].rar

Can i copy and paste this on fileassassin?

Ok, I found the file. Deleted it with fileassassin. I’m gonna do boot scan and will let you know.

The easy ( and best ) way to clean your temp files

TFC - Temp File Cleaner by OldTimer
http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/files/file/187-tfc-temp-file-cleaner-by-oldtimer/
TFC requires a reboot immediately after running. Be sure to save any unsaved work before running TFC.

TFC only cleans temp folders. TFC will not clean URL history, prefetch, or cookies. Depending on how often someone cleans their temp folders, their system hardware, and how many accounts are present, it can take anywhere from a few seconds to a minute or more. TFC will completely clear all temp files where other temp file cleaners may fail. TFC requires a reboot immediately after running

Ok, did the boot scan, the file would show up the first 5mins of the scan. The file is now gone. Thank You so much Asyn for your kind help.

@Pondus- I will try that program out too. Thanks.

You’re welcome…!
