You mean the SQL tray icon? If so - don’t worry about it, it’s normal.
This is basically because ADNM installs MSDE with all networking features disabled (to prevent debacles like MS SQL Slammer) - and this probably confuses the ‘Manager’.
BTW the AMS works OK? I mean, can you connect to it from the ADNM console?
OK, I under4stand regarding the SQL manager.
However I cannot login to the ADNM console. It does not list an AMS. And when I try to have it detect it does not find anything.

First, please update the AMS (and the console(s), if you have installed any) to the latest version. Control Panel → Add/Remove Programs → avast Management Tools → Change/Remove → Update.
Next, make sure the avast Management Server service is running. Control Panel → Administrative Tools → Services.

I did the update, but it was up to date.
The Server service is running, but it still does not list an AMS server to login to.
