Had a pop-up from Avast that re-registration would be necessary in 30 days and to renew as soon as possible, so I did it. Of course it took me through the option of the full product a couple of times before giving my name and password (or was it email - can’t remember). That then took me to my.avast where it requested a password. Once completed, I now see that the product is registered from today and is connected with my email address which shows (connection with which is new).
Can I opt to disconnect the email address? What is the up-side of having it connected?
