I read the following :
"Q: My licence key has expired, what should I do?
A: First, check your license key validity. You can do it this way:
Right-click on the blue a-ball icon in system tray.
Select ‘About avast!..’ from the menu.
In the window that appears, unroll the ‘Registration key’ item. "
How does one "unroll" the "Registration key item" ?

I am not sure what is meant by “unroll” as I find that nowhere in the About Avast window. But, I would think it means to click on the little “+” box beside Registration Key. This would, in effect, “unroll” the list under this entry.

Thanks Charley ; clicking the “+” worked. It revealed
what I was looking for, namely the Updates Expiration
Date, which is when one has to “re-register” .
