Hello All,
I just noticed that my registration is just over 1 year and I have read that 1 year is the limit on the license key.
The 14 months being the inclusive limit including the 60 days trial before registration.
When re-registering does this interfere with the settings of my existing setup? and is there a link to re-register rather than register?
Thanks for any replies on this.

Just simply fill the form here and wait for new key delivered in your mail. It for Home Edition, as I understand you’re talking about it. And don’t be worried about your existing setup. Nothing will change.
Ylap,
thanks for your reply, i will re-register today.

Hello again all,
i just re-registered and received the new registration key which I copied and pasted into the required box.
When I look to about avast i see my old key still there.
Have I registered correctly?
Thanks for any comments.

The first bit of the license key (before the dash) is a very cryptic version of your email address, so I assume you used the same email address to register. Hence the first bit will look the same. The last bit, after the dash gives the program details about the period of updates. In the about box, it only shows the first bit of your license key.
Hope this helps
Hi! xistenz,
yes you were right, the first part of the key number is similar, that is the first 9 digits. (must look more carefully). I assume then, that I am re-registered ok.
One thing though I do not see the change of date in the avast ini file which still shows as june 2005.
Any views on that?
Thanks again for your help,
mal76
What do you mean?
The date there could be the date of last avast full version (in this case, 4.6).
Which value of avast4.ini file are you referring to?
ProductVersion=4.6
VersionLabel=Jun2005
Yep, Product version,
Thanks Tech, sorry to have bothered you,
All seems ok with avast anyway.

Hey… helping does not bother me… if so, I wouldn’t stay in forums that much ;D
